I have had this discussion with several of my parent groups I have facilitated. I see it a lot in kindergarten when kids come in and can't get a drink for themselves because no one is holding the water bottle for them or they stand there with their hands up in the air because they don't know how to take a jacket off. Working on being independent is important. I am not a rescuer. If one of my kids forgot something, especially if this was a repeat offense, they learned from their mistake. These are affordable mistakes that kids can have now.
